An Irish Pilgrim Journey

11th June 2024 Leave a Comment

A quick shout out out to the Irish Pilgrim Journey which is taking place from 15- 22th June this year, 2024, described as:

… a fully-guided mid-summer walk along Ireland’s passported pilgrim paths, with all logistics taken care of, it enables walkers to obtain the required stamps for the Irish Pilgrim Passport in 6 days of guided walking. Participants may book for some or all of the walks. Each walk can be booked individually with the local organisers.

The five pilgrims paths, all of which feature holy wells, are:

15/16th June : The first walk is St Finbarr’s Pilgrim route, West Cork – starting from Top of the Rock, Drimoleague and finishing up at the incredibly scenic oratory and holy well in Gougane Barra. This challenging 36km walk is tackled over two days, featuring some wild and beautiful countryside.
